I have had so much fun creating my Halloween DIYs this year that I had to make one more thing that’s been on my list for awhile now — cute drinking glasses!

You’ve probably seen these trendy beer can-shaped glasses all over social media as the new go-to iced coffee cups, and now you get to learn how to customize your very own.

All you’ll need are a few supplies, along with your Cricut, and you’ll be sipping from your new, spooky glasses by the afternoon!

Supplies

Glass Can Drinking Cups | Cricut | Permanent Vinyl | Vinyl Transfer Tape | Cricut Tools | Cricut Mat

How to

Step 1 | Using your favorite editing software, create a Halloween design to wrap around your glass. I personally use Canva to make all of my designs and then upload them to Cricut Design Space, but you can use whatever program you like best!

Before starting, you will need to measure your cup’s height and circumference and then plug those measurements into the file size. The glass cups I used were 4.5in x 9.5in, leaving out the top section where it starts to indent near the rim.

Step 2 | Once you have created your design, you will download it as a .png file and with a transparent background. If you do not have the ability to download with a transparent background you can do this manually when you upload to Cricut Design Space.

Step 3 | Open Cricut Design Space and click on ‘Canvas’, then ‘Upload’ on the left menu. Click on ‘Upload Image’ to import the design you just created. This will take you through a few steps including where you can manually remove any background you don’t want.

Step 4 | Your design should now show under recent uploads. Select the image and hit ‘Add to Canvas’.

Step 5 | With your design on the canvas, all you need to do is resize it on the top toolbar. Click ‘Make It’ and then follow the prompts to cut the design out on to permanent vinyl.

Step 6 | Once the Cricut finishes cutting out your design, remove it from the mat and weed all of the excess vinyl from the sheet so you are only left with the pieces that will go on the glass. Use vinyl transfer tape to pick up the remaining design from the vinyl backing.

Step 7 | Carefully wrap the design around the entire glass and smooth everything out. After gently removing the vinyl transfer tape, you’ll have a gorgeous, custom-made drinking glass!

Step 8 | Repeat these steps to create other designs or even add multiple colors! Make sure to only hand wash your glasses to keep them looking beautiful!

    • Hi, thank you! The elements I used are a little buried now, but I had originally just searched halloween, ghost, skull, etc until I found what I liked. If you search ‘luciesindelkova’ you’ll find the ghosts, ‘silhouette of a bat’ for the bat, ‘cute skull’ will pull up the skull design and then just moon, stars, sparkles for the extra filler. Unfortunately, it looks like the halloween speech bubble elements are no longer on canva, but you could always layer those yourself!
