These gorgeous vases have been all over my Pinterest lately and I’ve been dying to make one for myself!
I browsed through the thrift and craft stores for the perfect pieces to add to mine and ended up with a collection of shells, mosaic glass, plates and sand dollars. You can add just about anything to yours though, like coins, pins, charms, beads or any other pieces you have collected!
This was really such a fun DIY from start to finish, I know you are going to love making yours, too!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
VASE | SPACKLE | SPRAY PRIMER | TRINKETS + OTHER COLLECTED ITEMS
- Choose a vase in the shape you like. Try re-using one you already have or pick one out at the thrift store!
- Clean the vase, then spray a light layer of primer to the outside. This will help everything stick a little better. Also, if your vase is not already white, you can paint the inside opening white too.
- Sort through all of your collected things and lay them out. If you are using bigger items, like a plate, break those up into small pieces now.
- Apply spackle (or whatever material you prefer) all over the vase. Wet your hand and smooth everything out. Make sure the layer is thick enough to hold all of your items.
- Place your trinkets on the vase starting with the biggest pieces first, then filling in with smaller ones.
- Leave the vase to dry for at least a full day, but check in periodically to see if any pieces have moved or fallen.
