It’s a brand new year!
I always love to take this time in the new year to wind down after the holidays and deep clean my entire home. This includes a ton of organizing and sorting through things I no longer need.
One of my favorite areas to keep organized is the pantry! Grouping foods and using clear containers has made a huge difference when it comes to figuring out meals and cutting down on the cost of groceries. We also aren’t wasting foods because we can easily see everything we have!
Use air-tight, resealable containers for items like pasta, dry baking goods, cereals and crackers. Remove those foods from their packaging and put into clear sealed containers to keep them fresh and cut down on waste.
Keep foods grouped together by using baskets and bins. Use the the same sizes and style of containers for an organized and clean look! Remove your smaller packaged items like breakfast bars, mini snack packs and popcorn from their boxes and place in the bins to save some major space (this is also my favorite tip to use in our tiny freezer!).
Have an awkward corner or just want a little grab-and-go station? Lazy Susans are perfect for this! These would also be really handy in the refrigerator, under a sink or to create an easy access first-aid bin.
A multi-level rack for spices and canned goods will allow you to see everything at the same time so nothing gets lost, forgotten or sits unused.
Lastly, use labels on your containers and bins. This is great for bins that are out of reach, opaque or just to remind you what belongs there once your container becomes empty!
