Creating my textured Valentine’s Day wreath the other day was so much fun that I had to make another one!
This time, though, I wanted to create a blue wreath that would fit right in with the rest of the decor in my home. Since the wreath form is heart-shaped, I think you can make yours any color you want and still use it for Valentine’s Day!
This wreath will require a little extra work, but it’s still a simple process requiring only a few supplies. So, grab your yarn and pom pom maker, turn on a movie and get going!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
YARN | WREATH FORM | POM POM MAKER | SCISSORS
HOW TO MAKE YOUR WREATH
- You will first need to pick out several different kinds of yarn — multi-colored and varying textures look great together! Also, grab a pom pom maker if you don’t already have one. While you can create a make-shift one at home, they are fairly inexpensive with a coupon and will make your life so much easier! Lastly, you will need scissors and a heart-shaped wreath form, which you can purchase at Dollar Tree.
- Using your pom pom maker, layer the different yarns together for a fun and colorful look. Wrap one type of yarn first, then the next and so on until you have your desired thickness.
- Cut the edges of the pom pom (follow your pom pom maker directions).
- Cut a separate piece of yarn, about 6-8 inches, to tie around the center of the pom pom. You will use the extra length to attach the pom pom to the wreath form later on.
- Create as many pom poms as you may need!
- Trim the pom poms to make them even all around, but leave the two pieces needed for attaching to the wreath.
- Tie the pom poms to the wreath. The Dollar Tree wreath form has three layers, so I tied the pom poms across two sections to keep it in place.
- Add all of your pom poms and you’re done! Make it as full and fluffy as you want!
