This year, one of the goals I set for myself is to focus on celebrating more of the little moments in life, in addition to the bigger holidays. I want to create fun and simple DIY and craft tutorials that will bring joy to my and other people’s day-to-day life.
So, I’m going to kick off the year with Valentine’s Day, a holiday for which I haven’t made a single craft since I was a kid. It’s been way too long!
Today, I’ll be sharing how I made this gorgeous textured Valentine’s Day wreath — hint, it’s super easy to create! Check back later this week for even more v-day craft ideas and tutorials!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
YARN | WREATH FORM | SCISSORS
HOW TO MAKE YOUR WREATH
- Grab a heart-shaped wreath form at the Dollar Tree (by far the best deal!) and some yarn from your local craft store. You’ll want to pick up yarn in several different textures and shades. I used a combination of faux fur, velvet and curly, as well as some with tinsel, to get that extra soft and fluffy Anthropologie-inspired look.
- Next, I cut each type of yarn into about 8-inch strips.
- Using a lark’s head knot or a basic knot, tie each strip to the wreath form. I attached the pieces at random, there was no rhyme or reason to it!
- To make the wreath nice and thick, I filled all three sections of the form.
- Trim pieces as needed for your desired shape and style.
That’s it! This fun and gorgeous Valentine’s Day wreath was so easy to put together, I will definitely be using this for years to come!
