Today, I’m going to share another fun Easter DIY with all of you!
After painting these adorable scalloped eggs last week, I wanted to create another set that looked a little more natural — something I could leave out all spring. So, I came up with these moody speckled eggs!
They were easy and fun to make, but it can get a little messy. Make sure to set up a covered area before you get started!
What you will need
PLASTIC OR WOOD EGGS | PAINT | PAINT BRUSH | EGG CARTON
How to
- Grab a set of plastic or wood eggs and pick out some moody paint colors! I used white plastic eggs and six different paint colors.
- Wipe down the eggs if needed. Mine came with some dust in the packaging, so I made sure to clean them before painting.
- Divide your eggs into groups (assuming you want an even number of eggs in each color). Since I planned on using six paint colors, I divided my 24 eggs into six groups of four.
- Paint each egg one solid color first. Use an egg carton to help them dry.
- Once dried, you can start speckling! Grab a brush, dip it in paint and use your finger to flick the bristles onto the egg. I would suggest doing this very gently at first until you get the hang of it!
- Again, use the egg carton to help hold and dry your eggs.
- When you’ve speckled to your heart’s content, you can start decorating your home with these cute natural-looking eggs!
I love how these eggs turned out. They look perfect with my other decor! Have fun, get messy and create some speckled eggs for your own home!
