For 12 days, I will share a short DIY tutorial with you that you can fully customize to your style and hopefully even use materials you already have at home!
For day 5 of our craft series, I am sharing how I updated my old Christmas kissing ball for under $5.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
KISSING BALL | CHRISTMAS PICKS | RIBBON | SPRAY PAINT | MINI ORNAMENTS | FLORAL WIRE | SCISSORS
HOW TO
- When redoing an old kissing ball, start by taking everything off. Otherwise grab a bare one from the craft store.
- Using the mini ornaments that were already on my ball, I made a little stand with sticks and placed the ornaments on them to be painted.
- I then spray painted them with a couple of layers of matte black paint.
- While the ornaments dry, take the stems of the Christmas picks apart so you have lots of separate small pieces.
- Now, just play around with the arrangement and place the stems into the ball. I tried to have the greenery curve down to make it look more natural. Everything stuck in pretty well, so I did not need to wire or glue any pieces in.
- Place your dried ornaments throughout.
- Take one strand of ribbon to use as the hanger. Tie around a stem at the top.
- Tie another piece of ribbon into a bow and use a small piece of wire to attach it to the hanger ribbon.
- All done! Hang your newly updated Christmas kissing ball and fluff any pieces you need to!
