It’s the last day of our 12 Days of Christmas crafts and it’s an easy one for you! Today, we’re going to make yarn-wrapped ornaments. If you read the DIY stocking tags post, this will look really familiar!
I hope you enjoyed this little mini series of short and easy DIY tutorials! Let’s do it again next year!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
YARN | CARDBOARD | HOT GLUE GUN | SCISSORS | PENCIL | NEEDLE
HOW TO
- Draw a tree shape onto a piece of cardboard.
- Cut out all of the shapes.
- Using a glue gun, dab a small dot of glue as you wrap the yarn around the cardboard.
- You will need to wrap the yarn over the entire tree 2-3 times to make sure everything is covered and the yarn is nice and thick.
- Make sure to take your time around the edges. You want the glue to have time to dry so the yarn stays in place and doesn’t move off the edge.
- Once you finish, use a needle to thread a piece of yarn through a glued-on strand to create your loop for hanging. (You could also use a hole punch like I did for my stocking tags, but my trees were too small at the top to make a hole with out ripping the top off.)
- Tie a knot or hot glue the finished loop strand.
- Hang those babies up! I really love this one because you can really make any shape you want!
