This DIY is part of my how to repurpose a holiday tablecloth series — you can read about the other pieces I created here.

For my first DIY in this series, I’m going to show you the quickest and easiest way to make a table runner! With just a few supplies and less than an hour of your time, you’ll have a table runner ready for all your Christmas entertaining. Let’s get started!

SUPPLIES

FABRIC | SCISSORS | IRON-ON FUSING WEB | IRON | PINS

  1. Make sure to wash or pre-shrink your fabric before starting, if needed.

  2. Cut a piece of fabric to 16×92” and iron out any wrinkles. This will make a finished table runner that is 14×90”.

  3. Fold the edges over about 0.5” and press with an iron. Repeat this step so the edges have been folded over twice. Use pins to hold the fold in place until you are ready to add in the fusing web.

  4. Now, go back in with the iron-on fusing web and place between the fold of fabric. Press with the iron.

  5. Flip the runner over and press with an iron on the backside to ensure the tape has fused completely.

All done! This is such an easy DIY that can be used to create a special table setting for any occasion throughout the year. Share your projects with me over on Instagram @ruffandrenew and have a wonderful holiday season!!
