Easy DIY gold desk legs

One of my most recent thrift stores finds is this cute desk from Target!

I was so excited because I had been searching for the perfect little desk for my office and, funny enough, I was actually wanting to purchase this exact one while it was on sale during Black Friday but never did.

The desk was still brand new in the box, and when I got it home, there was luckily no damage, only some missing screws.

The only thing I wasn’t expecting, though, was how yellow the legs were. In the pictures it appeared more gold than the yellow-orange color that they actually were.

At first, this didn’t bother me. I was just so happy to finally have a desk! But as I slowly started to add other gold accents to the room, the legs started to stick out like a sore thumb.

So, I decided to just spray paint the legs to a color I liked and one that blended in with the rest of my decor! I used Design Master spray paint in Brilliant Gold, which you can find at Michaels and on Amazon.

I only needed to do two coats to completely cover everything! I forgot to buy a spray sealant, so I used the matte polycrylic I had at home at already. I also did two coats of this.

After drying for 24 hours, I put the desk back together and I am absolutely in love with how it turned out! This softer gold is perfect for my space and matches everything so well!

Now to just resist from spray painting everything in my home! 😉
