How to become a Poshmark Ambassador and what it means for you

I joined Poshmark just a few short months ago and have fallen in love with sending cute packages to their new homes!

Back in March, I downloaded the Poshmark app and listed a couple of items from my own closet. I didn’t put too much work into sharing or adding more inventory until I had my first sale at the end of April. But as soon as I dropped off that package, I was hooked!

Over the next two months, I put more time into my little Poshmark business — sourcing and listing new items each week and sharing my closet multiple times a day. By the end of June, I hit all of the requirements to be accepted into the Posh Ambassador program!

Today, I’ll share what the Posh Ambassador program is and what it means for you if you join!

What is a Poshmark Ambassador?

The Posh Ambassador program gives you access to additional benefits to help you grow your business! The three main benefits are:

1. You are recommended to new users

2. You will receive an exclusive newsletter

3. You will unlock access to fun programs and opportunities

Having your account recommended to new users will always be a plus! Anytime you can reach a wider audience and increase the chances of your items being shared, the better. Not to mention, all the extra tips and tricks being sent to you via newsletters will only benefit you.

How do I become a Poshmark Ambassador?

To become a Poshmark Ambassador, you have to hit the following eight milestones:

1. Minimum of 5K community shares | Share other poshers’ listings! This was the last goal I completed, but I quickly realized when I shared other poshers’ listing I received a ton of activity on my own listings. This included new followers, likes, shares and even sales!

2. Minimum of 5K shelf-shares | Share your own listings! Sharing your own listings is what is going to help you make sales. This was the first goal I reached.

3. Minimum of 50 new poshers shared | Share items from new poshers’ closets! On your app, hit the find people button. It will take you to a page where you can find people through your favorite brands, your city, your college and new people. Click ‘new people’ and share items from these fresh closets.

4. Minimum of 50 available listings | Have at least 50 available listings in your closet. List items from your own closet, a family member’s or even some of your unused home decor!

5. Minimum of 15 sales | Make at least 15 sales. Share your items everyday and use keywords in your listings for greater exposure. Send out offers to likers or run a sale and you’ll meet this goal in no time!

6. Average purchase rating of > 4.5 stars | Have an average rating of at least 4.5 stars. You can’t control what someone will rate your item once they receive it, but there are a few things you can do on your end to ensure you are doing your part. Take clear and well-lit photos; use all of the available photo slots; and describe and disclose all details and flaws. It also doesn’t hurt to package your items nicely!

7. Average ship time of < 3 days | Maintain an average ship time of less than three days. I personally think this is a super fair standard since most customers these days expect fast shipping times. Even if you don’t go to the post office every day you can still meet this goal!

8. Leave a minimum of one love note | Leave at least one love note for another posher. A love note (or comment) is left after making a purchase from another seller. This was also one of my last milestones to hit since I don’t typically buy things for myself, but through sharing other posher’s listings I found a cool vintage baseball jacket for my husband’s birthday! A win-win!

Where can I find my stats?

On the app | Select your profile picture in the bottom right corner of your screen. Scroll down until you see the section named ‘My Posh Stats.’ Click on “My Posh Stats” and you will see the first section says “Posh Ambassador Status.” If you click on this, you will see a breakdown of your activity showing where you are at in regard to meeting each milestone!

On desktop | Select your profile picture in the top right corner. You can click on “My Purchases,” “My Sales” or “Order Activity.” This will open a page with more options to the left side of your screen. Click on “My Posh Stats.” The first section says “Posh Ambassador Status.” If you click on this, you will see a breakdown of your activity analysis showing where you are at in terms of meeting each milestone!

How do I maintain my status in the program?

Maintaining your status as a Posh Ambassador is pretty easy. Just keep doing what you were already doing to get into the program!

1. Maintain an active closet

2. Participate in the Poshmark community

3. Provide great customer service

4. Be in good standing with Community Guidelines and the Terms of Service

How has Posh Ambassador status effected my sales?

You all probably want to know whether or not being a Posh Ambassador has increased my sales, if I get any other secret benefits and if it’s worth all of the extra time and effort.

The answer…no, no and yes!

My average sales per week has remained the same since becoming an Ambassador. I have noticed, though, a daily increase in followers and shares, which is still super helpful in getting your items seen on Poshmark!

Also, there are no other ‘secret’ benefits, like shipping discounts or shopping credits. That said, having Posh Ambassador Status shows buyers you are a reliable seller, which is definitely a great benefit!

Would I say it was worth all of the time and effort to become a Posh Ambassador? Definitely! It motivated me to reach each goal that was set and, in return, I sold items, which is the whole point!

Overall, I would say the Posh Ambassador status is a nice goal to work towards and you will receive some small added benefits once you reach it. However, I don’t believe this status affects your overall sales, nor do I think you need it to be a reliable and successful seller. It all comes down to sharing your listings, using good keywords and providing good customer service!

Poshmark has been so much fun to use and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. With that, I will definitely be sharing more tips right here on my blog! Stay tuned!
