Here’s a super easy and affordable DIY for you!

I have been loving the skinny candleholder style lately. Alone or grouped together, they add such elegance to any home. When I originally saw these brass candlesticks at the thrift store at $0.25 to $1 each, I knew I couldn’t pass them up and could easily change them up later if I wanted!

With fall and winter rolling around, I’ve wanted to create a more moody vibe in my home. Looking at inspiration for the season, I noticed a lot of decor includes skinny black candlesticks. What a great idea! However, most retailers are selling them for $25 up to $100. How crazy is that!?

A really easy way for me to achieve the matte black look I was wanting was to grab a $5 can of spray paint and those thrifted brass candle holders. I cleaned and dried each piece first, then I applied a couple of coats of paint, making sure to get in the grooves and undersides.

In only a couple of hours, I had beautifully updated candlesticks to start decorating with!

Lucky for you guys, I see these candlesticks at the thrift store all of the time! Mixing sizes and styles is even easier when you paint them all alike! A little hunting and searching through shelves will be sure to turn up your next home DIY.
