The craft room is my favorite space in the home! I love being creative and making things by hand — it’s so fun!

With all of the different types of projects I try and materials I use, it’s so important for me to stay organized. This makes it easier to find what I need quickly and keeps my space clean and decluttered, so that it’s a place I enjoy being in daily!

Before you start buying containers or storage systems, think about the size of the space you have to work with and the supplies you have. Do you only have a small closet to hold your craft supplies? Do you need to sort small items, like beads? Will you want to take containers to another room? These are all great things to think about before you start your organizing process!

Today, I’m going to break down different ways you can organize your supplies so that you can use what works best for your space!

My first and favorite type of storage are clear containers!

I like that they keep everything orderly while looking very sleek and clean. I also really like that I can easily see what is in each bin, so it’s a breeze when I’m looking for supplies and putting them away. This helps with staying organized on a daily basis!

Use several of the same style and sized clear containers along with labels for the ultimate organized space!

Decorative baskets are another great way to store your supplies!

This is where you can add some personality and fun into your room. Not every item in crafting is pretty, so opaque drawers or baskets with lids can be perfect for hiding supplies while keeping it cute on the outside!

Another way to use open baskets would be to toss whatever supplies you need for the project you’re working on and carry it to another room. Kind of like a little shopping basket, so then you aren’t dragging multiple bins throughout your home!

Don’t forget the small stuff!

Utilize storage containers with built in compartments, so you’re not losing them in the bottom of larger bins. Think of items like beads, buttons, thread, pom poms and so on! This will make it much easier when you start working on your craft!

Organizing the small stuff can be fun! There are so many containers out there to fit your needs — ones with drawers, carrying handles and even removable sections, too!

Keeping writing utensils and even paintbrushes organized can be a challenge!

My favorite way to organize markers, pens, paintbrushes and other tools is by using a caddy. It lets me see all of the tools at one time while keeping them separated into their groups. The best part though, is that I can easily grab the caddy and move it around my home as I do projects!

Another favorite container of mine are Lazy Susans! You can leave them in one spot and the just spin it to grab what you need. If you don’t use writing utensils that often, try divider trays in your desk drawers. This will still keep everything organized, but out of the way!

Rolling carts are a new obsession of mine!

I love that these storage carts hold everything you need, but can be rolled right into the closet or another room when needed. They can also hold virtually anything you want it to! Paper, yarn, small containers and baskets, paints…really whatever you have!

Rolling carts would be perfect for small craft collections or even for kids!

Have more wall space than closet space?

Storage cabinets and tables are perfect for those rooms that don’t have a closet to hide all of your supplies and bins. You can even utilize over the door organizers to give you a little extra storage space.

Do you have certain supplies you use all of the time? Install decorative shelves, peg boards or metal wall systems to keep all of your crafting goods right next to your work station! It doesn’t hurt to have your craft room looking cute all of the time. 😉

Top off all of those cute bins and basket with some labels!

Want to make it even easier to find what you need? Use chalkboard, erasable and sticker labels to categorize all of containers!
